The app also allows you to edit videos, making it easy to share your moments on social media. HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology helps balance exposure and enhance image clarity in challenging lighting conditions. By reducing blown-out highlights and crushed blacks, HDR ensures that details are preserved in both bright and dark areas. This makes it particularly effective in environments with strong light-dark contrasts, such as backlit scenes during the day, streetlit areas at night, or locations like tunnel entrances and exits where sharp lighting transitions occur.

3-axis G Sensor & GPS Receiver

The G-sensor measures acceleration forces acting on the vehicle, including those caused by sudden changes in direction, braking, or impact, such as during a collision. When the G-sensor detects significant force, it triggers the dash camera to save the current video file in a dedicated folder, preventing it from being overwritten when the storage is full. This critical footage is preserved for future review or as potential evidence. The dash camera is also equipped with a GPS receiver, allowing it to store data such as current speed and coordinates alongside the video. Speed and G-force data are displayed at the bottom of each video, while the location and route can be viewed on Google Maps using the KENWOOD Video Player software.

Smart Parking Mode Recording

The dash camera features Smart Parking Mode, which activates when the optional hardwire kit (sold separately) is connected. It offers three modes: Vibration Detection, which records 30-second videos when vibrations are sensed; Motion Detection, which captures 30-second videos when movement is detected in the camera’s field of view; and Time-lapse, which creates continuous time-lapse recordings. The camera operates until the vehicle is restarted, the battery reaches its minimum voltage, or 24 hours of parking mode have passed. All recordings are saved in a dedicated folder to prevent overwriting, ensuring that important footage is always preserved.

Front and Rear 2 Camera Recording

This dash camera can be expanded with the optional KCA-R110 rear-view camera, featuring an ultra-wide viewing angle to simultaneously record both front and rear events. In the event of a bumper impact or collision at the front or rear, the footage is stored in two separate video files: one in Full HD resolution from the dash camera and the other from the rear camera. When used in parking mode, the added rear camera significantly increases the likelihood of identifying vandals, offering enhanced security compared to using only a front dash camera.
