Additional info re. Crafter (from model year 2025)

Important information on retrofitting a tow bar when preparing for a tow bar (PR number: 1D7 or 1D8)

There are currently special technical requirements for retrofitting a tow bar for Crafter vehicles from model year 2025 onwards.
For vehicles that were factory-configured with preparation for retrofitting a tow bar (PR number 1D7 or 1D8), please note the mandatory reporting requirement 2077247/* "Mandatory reporting requirement: Mandatory reporting before converting a tow bar with action code" for converting the tow bar.

The following requirements must be met for recoding:

• Crafter model year 2025 up to production week week 10/2025
• PR number 1D7 or 1D8
• Tow bar/trailer socket already retrofitted to the vehicle

This special process is expected to be required until mid-2026.

For vehicles with PR number 1D7 or 1D8 from production date week 10/2025, the trailer hitch can be retrofitted independently. Please refer to the conversion and retrofitting table below.

Important information on retrofitting a tow bar without preparation for a tow bar (PR number: 1D0)

For vehicles that were configured ex-factory without preparation for retrofitting a tow bar (PR number 1D0), please note the reporting requirement 2078334/* " Reporting obligation: Reporting obligation before converting towbar with action code for vehicles without towbar preparation (PR.No.: 1D0)" for converting the tow bar.

The following requirements must be met for recoding:

• Crafter model year 2025 or 2026
• PR number 1D0
• Trailer hitch/trailer socket already retrofitted to the vehicle

This special process is expected to be required until mid-2026.
